About Us

Since 1975, we have worked on over 4,300 major projects and renovations, not including countless other services. Started by Roger Eisenmann, now his son, John Eisenmann, owns and operates the business and has his family working alongside him.

Our downtown Decatur building has a bit of history as well. Some can remember when it was a bowling alley, with a dance hall and shooting range in the basement, and a flower shop on the corner. Those with further memory think of this place as a livery with a horse stable, which had an underground route to the river to water the horses.

The MR Planners, Inc family believes in making not only your home nicer but also the community a better place to live. We have partnered with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and often donate new or used goods to Habitat ReStore. We also partner with The Hope Clinic, which provides services to families and mothers of unplanned pregnancies. Additionally, we support the local Unfailing Love Clinic, Love INC, and Swiss Heritage Village in Berne, and the orphan supporting ministry of Loving Shepherd Ministries in Bluffton. We also support local charity and police and benefits.

If you have a need for a silent auction item for a sick family member or a cause, we try to keep items on hand for this use. Moreover, if you stop by during the Kekionga Festival or sidewalk sales, you will see fun things for kids at the end of the street. We are also a member of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce.

Mission Statement

MR Planners, Inc’s specialty since 1975 is the value of the design of the kitchen, bath, or window remodel. We acknowledge that our customers want a good value and quality construction that adds value to the home. We strive to keep good relations with God first, and with customers, our employees, our families, and the community.

A Family Business Built on Planning and Trust

At MR Planners, we believe remodeling should not be stressful, confusing, or full of costly mistakes.

That’s why our entire approach is centered around one idea:

Planning is never wasted time.

From kitchens and bathrooms to windows, doors, and appliances, we take the time to coordinate every detail—so your project fits, functions, and finishes the way it should.

When you work with us, you’re not just hiring a contractor—you’re working with a team that:

  • Thinks through the details before work begins
  • Coordinates every part of the project
  • Stands behind the work long after completion

A Building With History—And a Future

MR Planners was started by our dad, Roger Eisenmann. John, the son, grew up on the jobsite, and learning blue prints from a young age. He is in turn teaching Andrew Eisenmann, the ropes of getting the details right, being consistent and truthful, and communicating well so everyone is on the same page.  We work hard to work for you like our own home, whether, small or large, kitchen or bath, living or laundry.  The way we treat our employees and team is reflected in their commitment to you our customer.  We know a name is only as good as the work done in the end.

Our downtown building in Decatur has a story of its own. You can see more history of the building and the town here:
