Sharing Ideas to Inspire and Unite for Better Living
At MR Planners, Inc, we are often asked which countertop surfaces are best. There are many options, often depending on budget. The most inexpensive are the laminate choices. Now coming out with enhanced finishes that help the design appear like stone.
Corian is the next economical with a smooth, renewable finish. It does scratch a little easier, but can also be “sanded” down for a renewed surface. Ask for instructions!
Granite offers the timeless natural beauty of stone, and a hard surface that is the most heat-resistant. It is a porous material that benefits from a sealer. Treating with granite cleaners helps keep its optimal shine. Avoiding acid is beneficial so that the natural softer stones are not pitting the surface.
Quartz, though often the most expensive option, has become a popular option for its durability, hygienic, non-porous, hard surface, and clean look. Because quartz is crushed quartz and composite materials, it offers repeatable and consistent patterns. Cambria is maintenance-free and requires no sealing or polishing. Simply wipe the surface with a soft cloth and warm water, and mild soap if desired, to keep your Cambria spotless. Never use bleach and abrasive powders or scrubs like Comet®, Soft Scrub®, or S.O.S. pads. MR Planners, Inc carries several lines and price options; the above image displays the Cambria Swanbridge collection.
